Wrecking Ball




Splatter texture sky.

The roof is a sleeping cat
basking in the moon.

Silver lamps show
tadpoles on the moon.

The wrecking-ball moon.

Threatening, any moment now
to explode, unravel

Look!
shards fly

black balloons
of night.

  1. I like the way this moon evolves from a sedate dormancy into a kind of mercurial quicksilver life and thence, before we know it, into -- uh oh! -- that dangerous presence which makes the nerves jangle and interferes with peace and proper rest and...
