Something Wicked This Way Comes

A strange thing. I took the book from the shelf, carried it to my desk and typed Ray Bradbury into the search engine...

  1. Let us at least hope that you were not wearing metallic clothing. What with the conductivity and all.

  2. And now an even stranger thing. A dark force entered my body and caused it to type into this box the words "Let us hope you were not wearing metallic clothing."

And then those words mysteriously disappeared.

Evidently the conductivity, yes, that must be it.

    From those other worlds.

(Would that all obits were as delicate as this, being whisked away into a mystery.)

  3. Most evenings I update my Library Thing catalogue. Last night I got to Something Wicked and needed to search for the right cover. It was an eerie moment. Luckily my metallic suit was safely in the wardrobe but I did feel pretty shaken. I'm going to leave Library Thing alone tonight...

  4. Let us hope that those other worlds are not--as the blurb exclaims about Bradbury's book--"the stuff of nightmares!"--we have enough of those already.

  5. Quite right, quite right. But actually, this is a book that I've returned to several times because the atmosphere is strangely beautiful rather than nightmarish. Thanks for stopping by.
